The holiday season is upon us and I'm sure everyone is as busy as I am.  This may be a first, but I don't have much to say!  It may seem far away but remember to mark your calendars for January 26th  when we will gather at the North House for our Winter Gala.

We are 162 members strong. Including 3 of our newest members: Kitty & J. Taylor Albright; Julie & Craig Ludko; Elaine Tucker. Welcome!

We welcomed 30 new members and 132 members renewed.
 
The Simsbury Newcomers 2018-19 Membership Directory has been mailed. Let me know if your's has not arrived. Please remember that the Directory is for your personal use and not to be used for any form of solicitation. Hope you like the bright, obnoxious yellow cover. It should help you find it easily.
 

Civic Concerns

Simsbury Social Services has families in need this Holiday gift giving season. This particular family has six children and would be so grateful for gift cards as listed below. Any amount. Any number of cards.

2 boys - ages 3 and 11: Walmart gift cards 
girl - age 8: Walmart gift card
girl - age 12: Visa gift card
2 boys - age 16: Visa gift cards
 
We need to collect all  cards by December 16 in order to deliver to Social Services.  Contact Eileen Higham with any questions or to schedule delivery of your donation:

We will celebrate the festive season at the Avon Old Farms Hotel on Saturday, December 8th at 7:00 PM.

We’ll have choices of both The Tap Room and Seasons Restaurant menus.
Please RSVP by December 2nd.

Wine & Women

Wine & Women is a fun and casual group that meets once a month, at a member’s home, usually on the third Thursday night of the month. Everyone brings a bottle of wine or other beverage of choice and an appetizer or dessert to share. It’s fun to meet new members and reconnect with friends. And, of course, you don’t have to drink wine to enjoy an evening out with this lively crowd!  We welcome members to join the group at any time during the year. If you are not currently on our email distribution list, please email Cheryl or Sarah with your name, telephone number, and email.

We will not be meeting in December.  We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!  We do need hostesses for January 17^th, March 21^st and June 7^th.  Please contact Sarah or Cheryl if you would like to host one of these fun evenings.
 
Save these dates: January 17, February 21, March 21, April 25, May 16, and June 7 (a Friday date for “Wine, Women and Guest”). Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to open their home to our group.
